Possessing a highly analytical mind, proficiency with technology second to none, and the ability to instantaneously warp themselves and anyone around them moderate distances away, Maya is a robot who, despite their great abilities, feels incomplete. This incompleteness stems from their perceived lack of purpose. To them, if a robot is not fulfilling their built purpose, what good is that robot to begin with? However, since being taken in by Audrey, Maya has grown to somewhat push past their self-doubts, becoming a dependable but socially awkward robot working a simple job at a spaceport warehouse, indexing things that go through. It may not be the most glamorous job, but for Maya, any job, any sense of purpose, is worth taking.

Maya was originally built as a robotic clone assassin version of Audrey through scanning her design while she was a "lab rat" of sorts following her rebuild. They were then put as the team leader of a squad known as Domino Theory, where their mission was to destablize planetary governments through any means necessary. The clone led their team well at first, but upon a mission which resulted in them having a change of heart, they were betrayed and left for dead by their teammates. Some time later, the clone's remains would be recovered and repaired by Audrey. At first, the clone was afraid of Audrey, but warmed up to her after Audrey gave the clone stars to put in their hair, alongside a name to match: "Maya". Since this moment, the two grew ever closer, their relationship evolving from complete strangers to an inseparable pair of siblings.

On a clear night, Maya takes a telescope outside to observe the stars and planets that dot the sky. The infinite expanse of space fascinates them, and fills them with hope that one day, they will find their place in the vast, vast universe.
