On the surface, Sandwich is a friendly, if somewhat unremarkable person among his fellow Ralvenians. A complete whiz at anything mechanical, always working on some new fancy gadget in his apartment workshop, he's just your friendly citizen next door for a lot of people. Under the surface, however, lies an extremely paranoid spirit who's afraid of almost anyone and everyone. Part of this is to protect those he loves, such as his young niece Melody, but most of it is to protect the world from himself, for Sandwich has an alternate personality that acts as a release valve for his bottled up stress. Worse still, this alternate personality has caused blackouts for Sandwich in the few times it manages to take over, giving Sandwich the ultimate fear that one day, it may fully take over his regular personality.

Sandwich was born as a heir to the Ralvenian royal family, although this detail was largely forgotten by the time he was born. A notorious slacker, he largely lived a life of little responsibilities in the big city, not having much to care about in regards to others or himself. All of it would change one fateful night, when his newborn niece, Melody, appeared at his doorstep in mysterious circumstances. Initially dismissive of the idea of taking care of a child, when Melody was almost abducted by an evil from his family's past, Sandwich protected Melody and saved her life. This act made Sandwich realize that deep down, he did love Melody, and thus he pledged to do anything to protect her no matter what.
